Somato Respiratory Integration

Breath, attention, and touch used together to help you feel what your body is doing — building the internal awareness that makes lasting reorganization possible.

Overview

SRI is a set of simple exercises that utilizes breath, movement, and focused intention to connect beyond the rational mind. It bypasses your thinking brain to access the pre-rational, raw experience where stored stress and trauma actually live. By fully experiencing these holdings, you create the conditions for them to release from your nervous system and tissues.

During SRI sessions, you place your hands on your body while using focused breath and awareness to connect at different levels. A trained facilitator guides you through these exercises initially, teaching you how to access deeper states of somatic awareness. Once learned, these become tools you practice independently—at home, in bed, whenever you need support.

SRI is a powerful complement to nervous system care. While NetworkSpinal addresses the nervous system through gentle touch, SRI empowers you to continue the healing process on your own, anytime, anywhere.

A profound path.

Reconnect to innate wisdom

With breath as the tool, SRI is a complete system for reconnecting with your body’s innate wisdom, releasing emotional holdings, and transforming patterns that keep you stuck. People often experience laughter, tears, or other spontaneous releases as the body expresses what it has long held silent.

Come home to your body again

Results can be profound, even from a single session. This practice helps you come home to your body again and realize your symptoms and suffering are actually messages from your body, rather than betrayal. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic pain, or simply seeking a deeper connection with yourself, SRI offers a gentle yet powerful pathway home to your body’s wisdom.

A path to wholeness

Created by Dr. Donald Epstein—the same pioneer behind NetworkSpinal—SRI emerged from observing thousands of people spontaneously moving through distinct stages of healing and consciousness. What began as observation became a systematic approach with 12 progressive stages, each representing a different state of awareness along the path to wholeness.
